Advancing Women's Leadership

Moving beyond representation to capability.

I believe women’s empowerment must go beyond representation. Opening doors matters, but women also need the skills, confidence, resilience, mentorship, and support systems that enable them to lead effectively.

This conviction informs my professional engagement with women’s leadership and my commitment to creating spaces where women can develop, connect, and realise their potential.

One significant example is my leadership of the D.I.V.A. Principle Days in Accra, a five-day experience hosted by Dr. Michelle McKinney Hammond and designed to inspire, connect, and empower women. I lead, plan, and coordinate the annual initiative, which has brought together approximately 6,000 women across the five-day experience, culminating in a conference attended by approximately 3,000 women.

Featuring speakers from the Christian community, including Priscilla Shirer, the conference creates opportunities for women to engage with messages of faith, purpose, personal growth, and leadership.

My contribution to Strength UnSeen, through the article Building Women Leaders Beyond Representation: A Case Study — Ghana, reflects another dimension of this commitment. I advocate for an approach to women’s leadership that combines representation with practical skills, mentorship, strategic thinking, negotiation, financial literacy, confidence, and resilience.

Through these engagements, I seek to contribute to environments in which women are not only given opportunities to lead, but are also equipped to make meaningful contributions in their professions, communities, and wider society.
